Palworld sealed is up 66%. The cards inside it are sliding.

A sealed carton of Palworld booster boxes jumped from a $1,144 median to $1,900 in a single week on our ledger — up 66%. The most-traded promo single fell 37.5% over the same stretch. Two weeks in, the market has split in half.

A sealed carton of Palworld TCG — twelve booster boxes of *Dawn of Palpagos*, still shrink-wrapped — carried a median completed-sale price of $1,900 in the US last week. Seven days earlier the same carton cleared at $1,144. That's a 66% jump in a week, on 75 sales versus 36 the week before — more buyers, paying more money.

Now open one of those boxes. The most-traded promo single in our data, the "Soul" PR card (ESOUL-003), went from a $240 median to $150 across the same two windows — down 37.5% on 32 sales. In Japan it fell 30%. (US prices run about 3.5x Japan's across the 29 cards we price in both markets, so both halves of that card are cooling at once.)

Sealed up, singles down, same set, same week. It's the standard post-sellout pattern, and here it's playing out in fast-forward. When a product sells out and no more is coming, sealed boxes become the scarce thing. But every box somebody opens dumps more singles onto the market. One supply is choked; the other grows by the hour.

The choke is real. Gamefragger reported on Aug 1 that "local card shops in many areas are sold out of product" — and July's 3.5-million-packs headline was a pre-launch shipment number, not a read on what's still on shelves.

Nothing on the horizon relieves it. Bushiroad's official roadmap, posted today, runs all the way through January 2027 without a single BP01 reprint on it. It does confirm BP02 "Legends Awaken" for Oct 30 — but that's a new set, not more BP01. No reprint has been announced. That absence is the whole engine under the sealed price.

The booster box itself sits at a $170 median — 209 sales in seven days, our single most-traded item. We won't claim a week-over-week move on the box; our box ledger is only about a week deep. But as a level, $170 is roughly 3.7x the ~$45 it cost to preorder a box.

The singles slide isn't universal, and that's the tell. The true top chase held: Chillet – Dragon Whisperer, the SSP everyone wants, is up about 15% in Japan and holding near $780 in the US. The all-gold Cattiva "Soul" — the card that fell from $4,000 to $1,000 in our last post — sat flat, right around $1,000. The softness is in the middle: a raft of mid-rarity parallels off 25–47% (one OSR down 45%, one SP down 47%, on thinner samples). So the split isn't really "sealed versus singles." It's sealed and top-chase firm; the mid-market gives.

There's a second engine here too, and it has nothing to do with scarcity. Also today, Bushiroad laid out the competitive calendar — shop tournaments starting this month, a Grand Challengers Cup, and a Masters League running from November toward the game's first World Champion. Organized play pulls demand toward the *playable* singles — which is exactly the softening mid-market. If that ramp bites, it lands first on the cards currently sliding, and the split gets more interesting than a straight line down.

Here's the part a sealed holder can't wave away. The thing propping up those box prices is the *absence* of a reprint — and absences end with an announcement. Disney Lorcana's *The First Chapter* is the case study. It ran from a ~$150 MSRP to a peak near $402 during its shortage, then fell back to about $159 once the reprint shipped — roughly four months, round trip. The day Bushiroad prints more BP01, the sealed premium can deflate exactly that fast.

It's also not a law. This year's Pokémon *Perfect Order* did the opposite: sealed boxes slipped about 12% while the mid singles held flat — the mirror image of what we're seeing. And the broader board is mixed: TCGplayer's Q2 2026 report shows the newest Lorcana boxes holding almost $100 over MSRP more than a month out, while the newer Riftbound slipped a rank. Not every young TCG holds its heat, and not every one holds it the same way.

Read it for what it is. The Palworld market is about two weeks old — this is a supply shock, not a settled price, and supply shocks resolve. The sealed-up, singles-down split is real and it's sitting in our completed-sale data right now. Whether it holds comes down to the one thing none of us can see yet: when the reprint gets announced. Until then, the box and the cards inside it are telling two different stories.
